Dimalanta, bags Gold and Silver Medals in 2016 Global IT Challenge

Three medals, including two golds and one silver were awarded to Nathaniel Edward Dimalanta, Grade 11 student, during the 2016 Global IT Challenge (GITC) for Youth with Disabilities held in Yanzhou, Jiangsu, China last November 21-25, 2016.

The program which was participated by 16 countries is a program of the GITC that challenges youth with disabilities such as visual, intellectual disabilities, mobility and hearing impairment. It aims to utilize the use of ICT in solving problems and issues. The competition focused on MS Office, Scratch Programs and Explorer Web Browser.

Dimalanta holds an impressive record. He won first place in the E-Life Map (individual category) and E-Design (group category). Moreover, he placed second in the E-Tool category. Prior to this event, Nathaniel already won in the Logo Design Making contest during the Division ICT Technolympics and in the National IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities respectively.

Other youth delegates who participated in the said event were from Philippine National School for the Blinds, Ramon Magsaysay High School-Cubao and NOH-School for Crippled Children.

PSD is truly proud to have been winning in this international competitions since 2014.
